Other games and game components are sometimes drafted into the form of Poker, although they lack the element of vying. For example, Whiskey Poker and Chinese Poker are both gambling games that use a combination of Poker hands, but they do not involve a vying process.
Most forms of poker are played with a standard 52-card pack, plus one or two jokers. In some poker games, the dealers will shuffle and deal twice during a single dealing round to speed up the game. In other cases, the previous dealer assembles all of the cards from the pack he dealt with, shuffles them, and then places them to the left of the dealer’s area for the next dealing round. This method is typically employed in clubs and amongst the best players. In most home games, however, the standard deal is used.
